The Australian Screen Editors Guild is calling for entries in its Annual ASE “Elephant Stamp” Awards.
With the addition of one new category, entries will now be accepted for Best Achievement in Editing in the following six areas:
SHORT FILM
TELEVISION DRAMA
TELEVISION NON-DRAMA
DOCUMENTARY
COMMERCIAL
FEATURE FILM
“The ASE is pleased to announce the introduction this year of the Commercial category, which both recognises and further represents the broad skill set and areas of expertise of our membership”, states Guild President, Peter Whitmore ASE.
The ASE Award judging panel is comprised solely of Accredited Members. At the enormously successful ASE Awards, held at Newtown’s The Vanguard in Sydney last December,
20 members were nominated across five categories, the winners receiving the distinctive bronze elephant statue. In a wry nod to an old school tradition, each statue came complete with its own personalised “elephant stamp”.
The winners of the 2007 ASE Awards for Best Achievement in Editing were:
SHORT FILM – Richard Greenhalgh -25 Cents
TELEVISION DRAMA – Veronika Jenet ASE – Bastard Boys
TELEVISION NON DRAMA – Philippa Rowlands ASE – Jamie’s Kitchen, Australia, Ep5
DOCUMENTARY – Steve Robinson, Choir of Hard Knocks
FEATURE FILM – Suresh Ayyar ASE – Romulus My Father
The 2008 ASE Awards will be held in conjunction with the annual Accreditation Ceremony.
Extended Deadline. Entries in by 19th September 2008.
