On
May the 9th in Melbourne, ASE members braved the cold and the threat of
giant gorilla attacks to listen to Henry Karjalainen, ASE member and
the 2nd assistant editor on Peter Jackson's King Kong, as he spoke
about the post process on the film.
Presented by the ASE, Digistor and Avid, Henry spoke in depth about
digital post production in the 21st century and using footage
generously provided by *Big Primate Pictures* and Universal Studios,
Henry demonstrated the workflow and methodology used in the post
production of a modern effects-intensive motion picture.
The event was extremely popular and attended by over 65 ASE members,
all of whom had an excellent and extremely informative time.
A huge thanks must go to Belinda Fithie of Digistor for putting the
show together, to Henry Karjalainen for being so generous with his time
and to all the Victorian Committee who made it such a wonderful night.
