Following the success of its inaugural peer assessed Editing Awards,
the Australian Screen Editors Guild is pleased to announce that the
categories for the 2007 Awards have been increased to five, as follows:
Best Editing in a Feature Film,
Best Editing in a Documentary,
Best Editing in a Television Drama
Best Editing in a Short Film
Best Editing in Television non drama
Eligibility:
Editors entering the competition must be members of the Australian
Screen Editors Guild, specifically editors have to be a financial
member during the period 1 July 2006 to 31 December 2007.
All entries must have had at least one public screening or broadcast or
video/DVD release between 1st July 2006 and 30th June 2007.
Feature films must have had a theatrical or video/DVD release;
Documentary entries may be either a full length documentary or 2x1/2 hour episodes of a series;
Television drama may be a single episode from a series, or a one off telemovie;
Short films – up to 20 minutes duration;
Television Non Drama, entries must not be under 10 minutes duration.
One entry per category per editor. Co-editors may make a joint entry.
Entries will be accepted on DVD only.
Accredited members who enter will deem themselves ineligible to judge in that category.
Applications must be competed and received by 14th September
2007. Postal entries must be postmarked 14th September 2007 or
earlier.
Judging:
Accredited members will conduct judging.
Judges decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Four finalists from each category will be announced in the week commencing 19th November 2007
Presentation of Awards will be held in early December 2007 in Sydney.
Co-editors will receive individual trophies if they are members of the Guild. Trophies will be awarded to ASE members only
Submissions:
- Completed application form
- 2 DVD's of completed production
- $50 (inc GST) cheque payable to the ASE or signed credit card permission.
