On
Wednesday the 3rd of May at 7:30pm the documentary The Prodigal Son
is screening on SBS as part of the "Inside Australia" series. This
documentary was edited by Guild member Walter McIntosh and after many
years assisting, this film marks his first documentary as full editor.
The Prodigal Son
is the moving story of a traditional Macedonian family’s ‘dilemma’ with
having a gay son, now in his 40s. Ted’s father hasn’t spoken to
him for 15 years. It is only after a serious illness, that he begins to
speak to him again.
The Prodigal Son won the IF Award for Most Popular
Film, and the Highly Commended Award for Documentary at the Flickerfest
International Film Festival 2006.
The Prodigal Son was directed by emerging film maker Tony Radevski.
