BROTHER, a short film made under the NSW Young Filmmakers Fund, has
won two more film awards in the US following its win at last week’s
Silver Lake Film Festival.
BROTHER won Best Short Film and Best Editor, for ASE member Hayley Lake, at the Beverly Hills Film Festival in Los Angeles.
The film beat a competitive field of 1500 mostly US films to win the
Best Short Film Award and, in a remarkable achievement, Hayley won Best
Editor across all categories of films entered, not just short films.
BROTHER, was written and directed by Galvin Scott Davis.
The ASE would like to wish Hayley congratulations, she screened her
film, BROTHER at the first "Young Editors" night last year and
certainly, everyone in attendance thought it was great work.
BROTHER is a psychological thriller that introduces us to three
characters and their bleak pasts and futures. Told from the point of
view of 'Son', the film shows us differing time frames of a crime that
has been committed, the preparation and the awful reality of having to
confess to the person closest to you.
