ACCREDITATION 2007
The Executive Committee may grant Accreditation, on the recommendation of the Accreditation sub committee, to a member whose overall standard of screen editing is consistently high and who is a current Member of the Guild and has been a Full Member for a minimum of two years.
Applicants will have at least five years industry experience as an Editor and they will have demonstrated their ability to advocate the role of editors in the industry.
Full members who consider they fulfill these requirements should apply to the Accreditation sub committee through the national office of the guild by submitting a complete list of their credits as an editor, highlighting the titles they consider to be their best work.
Applicants may be asked by the sub committee to submit further material at a later date and although it is not a requirement at the moment it is recommended that applicants provide three full examples of their work on DVD to assist in the selection process.
Applicants should submit a short personal statement which demonstrates their willingness and ability to advocate the role of editors in the industry and to advance the standards and recognition of the accreditation process.
Telephone contact details of two professional referees should be included with the application.
The fee for application is $25 to be paid at the time of application.
The deadline for application is 5.00pm, Friday 28th September 2007.
The Accreditation sub committee is defined in the ASE Articles of Association as consisting of 2 Accredited members for every 1 Full member.
Accreditation by the Guild is deemed an honour and the Accredited Editor shall have the right to use the letters ASE after his or her name.
Accredited Members will be presented with a certificate bearing their name and the date of their accreditation. The certificate shall always remain the property of the Guild.
In the event of a member failing to gain Accreditation, he/she may re-apply the following year.
The Executive Committee’s decision is final. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into.

The Australian Screen Editors Guild is now inviting applications for Accreditation 2008.
Accreditation is the highest honour the Guild can bestow upon its members. Its purpose is not only to recognise talent or longevity in the industry, but also to commend those who have demonstrated a consistently high standard of work, commitment to their craft and inspiration to their peers, via a body of work. It is an acknowledgement of an editor who has continued to work actively in promoting the values and practices of excellence in editing.
The deadline for applications is 5pm Friday 26th September 2008.
