ASE member Jason Ballantine is the guest of the Filmmakers Studio on November 2nd, 2006
Nominated for an AFI and FCCA Award in 2005 for Wolf Creek, Jason is
currently editing Greg Mclean's follow up feature film Rogue. This
Weinstein Company funded big budget action/thriller has a heavy VFX
component at the cutting edge of digital film making technology. Be one
of the few people to see the trailer that screened at Cannes.
Jason also recently completed the soon-to-be-released feature film, The
Bet - Directed by Mark Lee, starring Aden Young and Matthew Newton, and
The Caterpillar Wish - Directed by Sandra Sciberras, starring Susie
Porter and
Wendy Hughes.
As 1st Assistant Editor and Visual Effects Editor, Jason has worked on
Babe 1 and 2, Dark City, MI2, Moulin Rouge, Hearts in Atlantis, The
Quiet American and Star Wars Eps 2 and 3 in a career spanning 14 years.
Our host Andrew Urban has 35 years experience as a journalist, he is a
seasoned interviewer, feature writer and news reporter, having
contributed regularly to The Australian, The Bulletin, Cinema Papers,
and Qantas inflight magazine. Andrew is a published author and editor
& publisher of
Urban Cinefile.
The Filmmakers Studio runs monthly starting at 7pm. The venue for these
events is Metro Screenıs Studio 1, Sydney Film Centre Paddington Town
Hall, Cnr Oatley Rd & Oxford St Paddington. Our maximum capacity is
70, admission
price is $15 for Metro Screen members and ASE members and $20 for
non-members and pre sale tickets are encouraged. Bookings are confirmed
upon full payment and doors open at 6.30pm.
