Avid XDV glitching on FW playback

Hey All,

I have fiddled with a bunch of settings but cannot seem to resolve this:

When playing back a rendered dissolve, my external video monitor (via G5 firewire ouput through my DV deck and onto monitor) does this weird flickering thing on the first and last frame of the dissolve.

Anyone else experienced this? I don't get any weirdness going via the same route from FCP, just XDV. This is why I'm taking an educated guess that it's a setting somewhere....
