INCEPTION- Post Production

Hi all,

I've just finished up as additional editor on Chris Nolan's latest film, INCEPTION.
Lee Smith was busy cutting a Peter Weir film so I got to cut for Chris for 5 months till Lee showed up. A great experience!

Attached is an interview that Lee & I did for Studio Daily about post production on the film.

And here is a link to a great performance of the score by Hans Zimmer & Johnny Marr at the LA Premiere of INCEPTION. Magical!

We shot certain sequences and shots in 65mm 5 perf and for the IMAX version we converted those 6K scans to 65mm 15 perf (IMAX) and neg cut them in to the IMAX neg that was made from the IP of the 35mm scope version. The aspect ratio of 65mm 5 perf and scope is pretty similar so you don't get the jump in aspect ratio that we got in THE DARK KNIGHT but you do get a much clearer and crisper picture. It was a little complicated but nothing was as complicated as THE DARK KNIGHT!
The IMAX version of this film is definitely not an afterthought. It's well worth seeing in IMAX.
Let me know what you think.
