Saw this on the Avid-L2 from Wes Plate. Just had to show y'all.

----------

Last night we were watching Monday's "According to Jim" on the Tivo when a promo for last night's Lost came on. I noticed it right away so I went back and played it again with Tivo's slow playback.

Enjoy...

About three weeks ago, Sports Tonight broadcast a "coming up" teaser - about 30 seconds worth - as vo over "Media Offline".

I have never laughed so hard!

Someone would have copped a rap on the knuckles!!

that's assuming someone was paying attention...it did get far enough to actually get on the air...

I once got a promo graphic wrong and about six traffic clerks hassled me for at least fifteen minutes to fix it, three weeks before it was scheduled to play on air....that was years ago. I guess maybe the slimming down of tx structures and the employment of small children with drug habits instead of qualified personell may have something to do with it....

they just don't make em like they used to....(insert snigger here)

That's so true. I saw a bad spelling mistake in a promo for the 4400 a while back. Can't recall what it was - I think it was something like 'There Back' instead of 'They're Back'.

How the hell does something like that get through all its tech checks?

Because graphic artists notoriously can't spell. How many times have you seen "premier" when they really mean "premiere"?

And this is the father of a graphic artist speaking....

If only photoshop had "spell check"
