I know this doesn't really belong in this thread, but I couldn't see any threads more appropriate.

Anyway back to Children Of Men. Has anyone had a chance to see this film? I saw it the other day and was completely blow away by how good this film was. It was exceptional in all aspects.

The cinematography and editing really stood out to me, it was very observational. Long extended shots with minimal cuts.

This film really shows how versatile Alfonso Cuaron is as a director. From Y Tu Mama Tambien to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to Children of Men.

Yeah I absolutely loved the lack of quick editing - such a cliched technique in Hollywood. Of course, Speilberg's known for long cuts too, but something about this film just seemed different. Maybe it was the whole grainyness of it all (guessing it was shot in digital?) and the middle ground it found between Hollywood and true but rather amateur film-making.
