Is there an accepted standard for the order of end credits on a film? I have seen a lot of variations - does anyone know if there is a written (or unwritten) general consensus?

Also, who gets a full-screen title, and who gets lumped into the credits roll?

Enzo.

Looks like the appropriate reply is "whatever turns you on", Enzo.

When you say "who gets a full-screen title, and who gets lumped into the credits roll?" I'm assuming your referring to above the line, top of movie, as opposed to credits at the end. Those sorts of decisions are usually imposed for contractual reasons.

Talk to the producer(s). If nothing else they probably would welcome the opportunity for input. If they can't or won't give you any guidelines, go with what feels good for you.

Thanks JWRL.

What I meant by "full-screen title" is at the end before the credits roll. The two short films I am doing only have the film title at the start, and then straight into it.

By and large I am going by the rule of thumb that if there is a significant role in the creative telling of the story, they go first as single title cards, and then into a roll for other cast and crew, eg:

Director - single line
Producer - single line
Writer - single line
Editor - single line (of course)
Composer - single line

and then into a roll for Cast and then Crew.

I'd ask the producer, but in this case the Producer is the Director is the writer, and I'm pretty sure that as long as his name comes first he'll be happy :)

Thanks for the reply.
