Has anyone had any experience with the firestore camera drives? ( HDD that record directly from camera) Specifically it's ability to match timecode to the tape original.
The concept is to shoot HDV along with a firestore recording DVpal. The work is cut using the smaller files, once complete it will be being recaptured from the HDV tapes. Main reason for this is storage, data rate of 3.5 mbps verus 25 mbps is a real killer. Secondly using the firestore so that the tapes only recieve one pass in post rather than two.
On a similar subject, anyone use/know of any alternative to the firestore series ?
